Alex Torres is a Peruvian (Hungary-based) guitarist, songwriter and composer. His music is very influenced by styles like Folk, Flamenco and Indie acoustic pop.

His musical career started at the age of 12. When he participated in the international guitar festival "Gitara Plus" in Wroclaw, Poland. In this festival, Alex performed next to his father (famed Peruvian guitarist Pepe Torres) and shared the spotlight with other outstanding world famous guitarists, such as Tomatito, Costas Costiolis and Jorge Morel.
During the following years, Alex took a break in the music career, to study Electronic Engineer at “Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú”. After finishing, in 2011, he traveled to Hungary, where he took part in an international folkloric festival -the "Summerfest". This experience was the breaking point, in which Alex decided that all he wanted to do was music.
In 2012 he released his first album as a soloist; called “La Vida es un Viaje” (Life is
a trip), where it can be noticed Alex’s versatility to perform Classic, Peruvian, and
Flamenco guitar; as well as to create original songs developing his own style.
From September 2014 Alex began his jazz studies at the “Franz Liszt Music
Academy” in Budapest, Hungary.
Other works include Songwriting for movies, collaboration recordings with Peruvian an Hungarian singers and musicians, and giving masterclasses and workshops around the world.
He resides in Budapest now, while he continues working on his Second Album - which is going to be strongly influenced by Flamenco, Peruvian Folk music, Latin Jazz and Electro-Pop sounds.
